The Zamfara State Government has appointed Alhaji Shehu Baraya as the new Head of the State Civil Service.
The appointment, approved by Governor Dauda Lawal, takes immediate effect, according to the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Nakwada, in a statement issued Wednesday.
The statement was signed by the Senior Special Assistant (Media), Office of the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Suleman Ahmad Tudu.
Baraya succeeds Alhaji Yakubu Haidara, who recently retired from the state civil service after years of service.
“The new Head of Service is a seasoned career civil servant with extensive institutional experience and a deep understanding of public administration. He has served as Permanent Secretary in several ministries and, until his appointment, was the Permanent Secretary, Zamfara State Civil Service Commission,” the statement read.
Lawal commended Haidara for his service and contributions to the development of the state civil service, wishing him a fulfilling post-service life.
The governor also charged Baraya to use his experience to deepen professionalism, strengthen discipline, improve productivity and enhance efficiency across the civil service in line with the administration’s Rescue Agenda.
