The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has directed its ward chairmen, unit leaders and members to prioritise voter mobilisation and Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection as ward and unit meetings commence across the state on Friday.

In a statement signed by Olawale Ijanusi, also known as Optimum, the Special Assistant on New Media to the state APC chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, the party said the meetings would hold across its 203 wards on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Babatunde urged party members to use the meetings to strengthen grassroots structures, engage members and sensitise eligible voters on the need to collect their PVCs before the expiration of the collection deadline.

He said the mobilisation drive was crucial to achieving the one million vote target set by the party’s leader in the state, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the chairman, achieving the target would require deliberate planning, effective coordination and sustained engagement at the ward and polling-unit levels.

“The strength of any serious political party lies in its wards and polling units. Politics is local, and elections are won through effective grassroots mobilisation,” Babatunde said.

“If we are determined to achieve our one million vote target, we must begin by strengthening our structures, engaging our people and ensuring that every eligible voter has the opportunity to collect their PVC.”

He reaffirmed the Ondo APC’s commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence and promoting participation in the democratic process ahead of the 2027 general elections.
