The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday appointed Anthony Ehilebo as his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication.
The appointment, according to Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan, the state capital, takes immediate effect, with further campaign team announcements to follow.
Makinde said Ehilebo’s expertise as a communication strategist and lawyer would be a powerful asset in driving the APM’s message of resetting Nigeria and securing victory in the 2027 presidential election.
He urged Nigerians to stand firm and rally behind the APM, emphasising that the 2027 election was a historic opportunity to rescue Nigeria from what he described as the failed leadership of the All Progressives Congress.
“With unity, courage, and determination, we will reclaim Nigeria’s destiny and deliver the future our people deserve,” Makinde affirmed.
Makinde, on Thursday, May 14, 2026, formally joined the presidential race for 2027 under an alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party and APM.
In his declaration speech delivered at a rally held at Mapo Hall, Ibadan, and witnessed by a mammoth crowd, Makinde said, “Today, I, Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, announce my candidacy for the position of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the PDP/APM alliance.”
