As the sound began circulating online, listeners quickly noticed the difference. Producers from various regions started recreating the style, artists began requesting the sound specifically, and a growing community formed around the emerging movement.
According to Bluenax, that was the moment he realized Amacombo had become bigger than a production technique.
“When other producers started making records inspired by the sound and artists were specifically asking for Amacombo beats, I knew it had developed its own identity. That’s when I realized it wasn’t just a beat anymore — it was becoming a movement.”
The growth of the genre has been fueled not only by Bluenax’s productions but also through collaborations with a number of respected artists and producers, including DJ Jay Jay, Nathii, Ngobz, Untouchable MasterZA, Sthipla RSA, and several others who have contributed to the sound’s continued evolution.

“Collaboration helped the genre grow faster than I imagined,” Bluenax explains. “Every producer brought something unique to the table while keeping the core identity intact. That’s one of the reasons Amacombo has been able to spread so quickly.”
One platform that has played a particularly important role in the genre’s growth is TikTok. The combination of infectious rhythms and instantly recognizable guitar melodies has proven highly effective within short-form content, where originality often determines a song’s success.
“TikTok loves sounds that grab attention immediately,” says Bluenax. “The guitar catches people off guard because it’s not what they expect from Amapiano, and then the drums make them want to move. It’s a combination that naturally encourages creativity.”
While many emerging sounds remain confined to local scenes, Amacombo appears to be developing international appeal. Listeners from different cultural backgrounds have connected with the music’s unique blend of African and Latin-inspired elements, helping it transcend geographical boundaries.
“Music doesn’t need translation when the feeling is strong enough,” Bluenax says. “That’s one of the things I love most about Amacombo. People from different parts of the world can connect with it in their own way.”
As the genre continues to gain momentum, questions about its future naturally follow. For Bluenax, the mission extends beyond creating hit records.
“My goal is to establish Amacombo as a globally recognized subgenre,” he explains. “I want artists, producers, DJs, and fans around the world to embrace it. We’re still at the beginning of the journey, and I believe the sound has the potential to become something truly significant.”
The producer also hints at larger projects ahead, including collaborative releases and experiences designed specifically around the growing movement.
“The vision is much bigger than individual songs,” he says. “This is about building a culture and a sound that can live for years to come.”

“Don’t focus on copying what’s already working,” he advises. “The reason Amacombo exists is because I wasn’t afraid to experiment.
