Suspected terrorists invaded Ayegunle Bunu community in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State in the early hours of Monday, killing one person and abducting more than 30 others.
Sahara Reporters gathered that the attack occurred around 2:25 a.m. on June 1, 2026.
During the attack, one resident was reportedly killed while another person sustained injuries.
According to reports by local news medium Egbe Mekun Parrot, two residents of Ayegunle Bunu, a man and a woman, were among those abducted by the attackers.
The remaining victims were said to be passengers travelling in a commercial bus intercepted by the gunmen while passing through the community.
Meanwhile, the terrorists reportedly operated for several minutes without resistance before whisking the victims away to an unknown destination.
The latest incident has heightened fears among residents over worsening insecurity in Kogi State and along major roads linking communities with Kwara state borders.
