Sarafadeen Alli, the senator representing Oyo South, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Oyo State.
He secured a total of 578,143 votes, defeating former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who polled 19,193 votes, alongside one other contestant.
Adebayo Adelabu resigned from his ministerial position to contest the Oyo State governorship seat.
He alleged that the primary election was manipulated. Speaking to journalists after voting in his ward on Thursday, he stated:
“I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards.
“Reports reaching me state that there are a lot of gross misconducts in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions.
“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”
