Osun 2026: I’m Feeling the Victory Already — Gov Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday inaugurated a 52-man Campaign Committee that will lead his quest for another term in office in the August 15 governorship poll.

Governor Adeleke, who inaugurated the campaign committee at an event attended by top officials of his administration and party stalwarts, expressed confidence in the team to successfully deliver on the mandate of driving a campaign that will secure him another term in office.

Speaking further, the Osun Accord Party candidate recalled the journey to his eventual emergence as the governor in the 2022 governorship election, and charged the committee to work very hard to achieve success.

“I am feeling the victory, the defeat of our opponents. This team is heading to victory. My spirit confirms our party, the Accord, is declared the winner with wide margins.

“This is how we started in 2022. Today is the march to victory on August 15th. I hereby inaugurate this Campaign Council to the service of continuity and delivery of good governance”, the governor told the gathering.

The 52-member committee saddled with the responsibility of managing Adeleke’s reelection campaign will be chaired by the ex National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Prof Wale Oladipo.

According to a statement obtained in Osogbo on Tuesday, Oladipo, a Professor of Nuclear Chemistry, who currently chairs the Governing Council of the Osun State University, will work with the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi, who has been appointed as the Director General of the Campaign Committee.

The State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director General, with the Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates in Nigeria, Pelumi Olajengbesi, serving as the spokesperson, and Bola Ajao, as the Secretary.

Also in the committee is the National Treasurer of the People’s Democratic Party, Prince Diran Odeyemi, and the Osun PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi, a nephew to the governor, and the pop star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, among others.
