The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago, has dissolved his cabinet, asking the Permanent Secretaries to take over affairs of the ministries pending when new commissioners will be inaugurated.

This was disclosed in a statement released on Monday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim.

The Governor made this known on Monday during the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber, Minna.

Bago, however, retained the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers in his office.

“Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dissolved his cabinet. The farmer governor announced the decision during the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber, Minna.

“He appreciated them for the services they had so far rendered towards the development of the state and wished them the best in their future endeavours.

“The farmer governor, however, said he has retained his Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers in his office,” Ibrahim stated.

The dissolved cabinet was appointed at the inception of his administration in 2023.
