The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of the Public Service of the state, with effect from June 6, 2026.
Odusanya’s appointment follows the retirement of Mr Bayo Phillips from service.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Friday.
According to the statement, the governor thanked the former HoS for his contributions to the development of the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Aiyedatiwa also urged the new Head of Service to bring his wealth of experience to bear on the service towards driving the OUR EASE administration to its desired destination.
“Chief Odusanya was born on 6th February, 1967, into the family of Venerable and Mrs Emmanuel Odusanya (both of blessed memory). For his primary and secondary education, he attended St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School between 1972 and 1983.
“In continuation of his education, he attended Obafemi Awolowo University (then University of Ife), from where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (B. Agric.) in 1989. He returned to the same prestigious institution for his Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies, which he obtained in 1992. In furtherance of his quest for more knowledge, he gained admission to the University of Ado-Ekiti in 1998 to pursue his Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), which he obtained in the year 2000.
“Chief Odusanya joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and served in various ministries and agencies until his appointment as a Permanent Secretary in 2019. He served at various times as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Ondo State Civil Service Commission, Ministry of Transport, and currently in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He is currently the Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State.”
