Biddyvegas Art World Homecoming Boosts Art Therapy and Trauma Awareness Across Nigeria

The recent homecoming of UK-based artist and founder of Biddyvegas Art World, Abidemi Praise Omopariola, has recorded remarkable success, blending cultural engagement with meaningful social outreach.

During her visit, Abidemi Praise carried out a series of transformative programmes across schools and orphanages, focusing on art therapy and trauma awareness for children. Through interactive art sessions, children were given a safe space to express their emotions, confront trauma and build confidence. As part of this initiative, free art books were distributed to encourage continued creativity and self-development.

A significant highlight of the homecoming was her engagement with prominent leaders and dignitaries. She met with His Excellency, Ademola Adeleke, who expressed interest in supporting initiatives centred on child development and trauma advocacy.

She was also honoured with a visit to the palace of the revered Ooni of Ife, one of the most respected traditional rulers in Nigeria, an experience that reinforced the cultural significance of her mission. Special appreciation was extended to the Oba of Erinmo, whose guidance and support made it possible to connect with key leaders and expand the reach of the homecoming activities.

In addition, Abidemi Praise connected with notable personalities, including renowned music icon Yinka Ayefele and Honourable Mobolaji Ogunlende, further strengthening collaborations around youth empowerment, creativity and social development.

A defining moment of the homecoming was her visit to the Nike Art Gallery, where she was personally received by the legendary Nike Davies-Okundaye. The reception featured traditional drummers and dancers, creating a vibrant cultural welcome in her honour.
