Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo, has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Abdullahi Bello, as a commissioner-designate.

The development was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Dr Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade.

According to the statement, the appointment follows the resignation of the Commissioner for Works, Mohammed Yusuf.

The governor also approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw the redeployment of Barrister Salami Ozigi Deedat from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to the Ministry of Works.

“Also, the Governor has approved the appointment of the immediate past Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, popularly known as Dollar, as a Commissioner-Designate,” the statement read.

It added that Bello is expected to be screened and confirmed by the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioner for his service to the state and wished him well in his future endeavours.

“The redeployment takes immediate effect,” the statement added.
