Ogun Commissioner Declares for Reps Seat

The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adeleye, has declared her intention to contest the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

Adeleye made the declaration on Thursday at Ajuwon/Akute Ward 6 in Ifo Local Government Area of the state, before party executives and stakeholders.

The former two-term member of the Ogun State House of Assembly said her decision to begin consultations from her ward was symbolic of her connection with the grassroots.

She said her ambition was driven by the need to provide effective representation and promote inclusive development in the constituency.

“Our constituency, being very dynamic in nature, deserves leadership that understands its complexities, and I am more prepared to harness its strengths for sustainable growth,” she said.

Adeleye added that her plans would focus on economic empowerment, job creation, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises.

She also promised to promote vocational training and attract investments to boost local industries.

The commissioner pledged to maintain open communication with constituents, stressing the need for participatory governance.

She appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for appointing her to the cabinet and supporting her in office.
