The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has called on Christians all over the country to embrace love, peace and divine authority as they mark Palm Sunday.
Soludo made the call in a press statement she released on Sunday to commemorate Palm Sunday, which ushers in the Holy Week in the Christian calendar.
The Anambra first lady, who is also the founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation, “Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo”, described Palm Sunday as a significant day that urshers in the universal kingship of Jesus Christ and God’s eternal supremacy.
She said, “Today, we celebrate the feast of Palm Sunday, ushering us fully into the Holy Week.
“Today, Christ’s universal Kingship is re-established across the world — a solemn message of divine authority and God’s eternal supremacy.
“Like the days of the old, we walk with Jesus Christ into the land of Jerusalem, proclaiming the language of love, peace, and triumph. God is King, Hosanna, in the highest!”
She encouraged Christians to use the Holy Week to deepen their relationship with God and promote peaceful coexistence in society.
Palm Sunday marks the start of “Holy Week” and commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling prophecy as the humble, righteous King.
