NPSGGG Felicitates Muslims on Eid-el-Fitr, Calls for Unity and National Development

The National Prayer Support Group for Good Governance (NPSGGG) has extended warm greetings to Muslims across Nigeria and beyond on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Oluwaseun G. Kentomahun, the group conveyed its goodwill and urged Nigerians to embrace unity and peaceful coexistence.

The statement noted that the organisation, led by its Director-General, Ambassador Alhaji Abdulhakeem Atilade, and National Coordinator, Hon. Mrs. Agnes Umeh, “heartily felicitates with all Muslim faithful across Nigeria and beyond on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.”

It described Eid-el-Fitr as “not only a time of celebration but also a moment of deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, discipline, compassion, and unwavering faith demonstrated throughout Ramadan,” adding that “the period of fasting, prayer, and charity serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of selflessness, love for humanity, and devotion to God.”

The group urged Muslims to sustain the virtues imbibed during Ramadan, stating that “as Muslims celebrate this auspicious occasion, NPSGGG urges all faithful to carry forward the lessons of Ramadan into their daily lives. The virtues of patience, tolerance, and generosity cultivated during the holy month should be sustained and translated into actions that promote unity, peace, and national cohesion.”

Highlighting the country’s current challenges, the statement stressed the need for collective commitment to unity, noting that “at this critical time in our nation’s history, there is a pressing need for collective commitment to unity beyond religious, ethnic, and political divides.” It further encouraged Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah, to “use the spirit of Ramadan as a foundation for fostering mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence, and inclusive development across the country.”

The group added, “Let this Eid be a renewed call to strengthen the bonds that hold us together as one people, working collectively towards a more harmonious and prosperous Nigeria.”

It concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful celebration, stating, “Once again, we wish all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration. May the blessings of the season bring peace, progress, and prosperity to our dear nation.”
