Kaduna Electric has informed customers of a reduction in power supply across its franchise area, citing gas supply constraints affecting generation on the national grid.
The company said the situation has led to lower power allocation and increased load shedding across its network in Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.
In a statement issued on Sunday and signed by Management, Kaduna Electric said efforts are ongoing to ensure improvements in generation and supply.
The statement read, “We wish to inform you that we are currently experiencing a reduction in power supply across our franchise area due to gas supply constraints affecting power generation on the national grid.
“This situation has resulted in reduced power allocation and increased load shedding across our network.
“We are, however, pleased to inform you that the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISQ) is actively working with relevant stakeholders in the power sector to ensure that gas supply to generation companies increases significantly, which will in turn improve power generation on the grid.
“On our part at Kaduna Electric, we remain in constant communication with the relevant stakeholders and are closely monitoring updates regarding improvements in generation and supply to our network.”
Kaduna Electric apologised for the inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience and understanding as efforts continue to stabilise and improve power supply.
