A job seeker, Blessing Oluwajuwonlo Oripenaye, has drawn public attention after taking a bold and unconventional step in his pursuit of employment, positioning himself daily outside the Ondo State Governor’s Office in Akure in a bid to secure a direct audience with Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

Displaying a banner that carries his appeal — “MR GOVERNOR, I AM HERE, GIVE ME JOB” — Oripenaye has effectively turned the roadside into his point of contact with the state’s leadership, hoping his physical presence will succeed where previous efforts have not. He disclosed that repeated attempts to reach government officials through formal letters and social media platforms yielded no acknowledgement, leaving him with little option but to make his case in person.

According to him, his decision is driven not by agitation or organised activism but by a deeply personal desire to be heard. He emphasised that his action should not be misinterpreted as a protest, insisting instead that it is a peaceful and direct plea for assistance. By remaining at the location for extended periods each day, he hopes to capture the attention of the governor or relevant authorities who can consider his situation.

The setting itself reflects both determination and hardship, as he sits under a bright umbrella to shield himself from the elements while waiting patiently for a breakthrough. His message, boldly displayed, underscores his readiness to work and his eagerness to contribute positively if given an opportunity within the state system.

Oripenaye further stated that he is prepared to maintain this routine for as long as necessary, returning daily until his request is acknowledged. His persistence highlights the challenges faced by many job seekers, particularly those who feel overlooked despite making repeated efforts through conventional channels.

While his appeal remains unanswered for now, his approach has begun to attract attention from passersby and observers, raising conversations about unemployment and access to opportunities.

For Oripenaye, however, the mission remains clear — to secure a chance to prove himself and play a role in the development and advancement of Ondo State.
