The race to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is nearing its climax, with at least 34 countries already securing their places at the expanded global showpiece.

On Monday night, Germany and the Netherlands became the latest European heavyweights to book their tickets. The Germans delivered a ruthless 6-0 victory over Slovakia at the Red Bull Arena while the Netherlands overpowered Lithuania 4-0 to seal their qualification.

The upcoming tournament, which will be hosted across Canada, Mexico and the United States, will feature 48 teams for the first time, up from the traditional 32 that took part in Qatar 2022.
