Whiteblackboy Entertainment Charts New Path for Afrobeats with Talent Incubation Drive

In a move reflecting the evolving structure of Africa’s fast-growing music economy, Whiteblackboy Entertainment has announced a renewed strategic direction aimed at strengthening artist development, global collaborations, and long-term industry sustainability within the Afrobeats ecosystem.

The company, which operates between Nigeria and the United States, says its latest focus is not just on music distribution but on building a structured pipeline for discovering and nurturing emerging African talents capable of competing on the global stage.

Founded by Yaya Simeon Edamivoh, the label is positioning itself as a hybrid creative and business platform, designed to bridge the gap between grassroots talent and international opportunities.

At the centre of the company’s creative identity is Shaiboy, who also serves as the label’s first signed artiste and a key driver of its artistic direction.

Speaking on the company’s evolving mission, Shaiboy explained that the focus has shifted beyond releasing music to building systems that can sustain careers over time.

He said:
“We are thinking long term. It’s not just about dropping songs, it’s about building artists who can stand the test of time. Afrobeats is global now, and we want to make sure the next generation is fully prepared for that level.”

According to Whiteblackboy Entertainment, the new phase of its operations will prioritise artist incubation, creative mentorship, professional production support, and cross-border collaborations with producers, songwriters, and industry professionals.

The company also noted that the increasing international demand for Afrobeats presents both an opportunity and a responsibility for African-based labels to structure their operations more professionally.

Industry watchers say the approach reflects a broader shift in the African music landscape, where independent labels are increasingly adopting global business models to compete with established international record companies.
