Kebbi APC Suspends State, LG Chairmen Over Anti Party Activities

The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its State Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Kana-Zuru, and the party’s chairman in Zuru Local Government Area, Hon. Aliyu Abubakar Abiola.

The disciplinary action came after complaints from stakeholders within the Zuru Emirate, who accused the officials of failing to actively support party activities and engage key stakeholders.

In a statement issued by the APC State Secretary, Alhaji Sa’idu Muhammad Kimba, the party said an internal review and investigation found grounds to act on the concerns raised against the two officials.

According to the statement, the allegations included a lukewarm attitude towards party programmes, inadequate mobilisation efforts, poor engagement with critical stakeholders and failure to adhere to established party principles and procedures.

As part of the measures announced, Kana-Zuru was suspended as state chairman, with the Deputy State Chairman directed to assume the role in an acting capacity pending further directives from the party.

The APC also confirmed the suspension of Abiola as chairman of the party in Zuru Local Government Area.

In a related development, the Kebbi State Government suspended the Commissioner for Livestock Development and Fisheries, Alhaji Kabir Usman Alaramma Zuru.

The suspension was announced in a separate statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, who said the decision takes immediate effect and will remain in force until further notice.

The commissioner was directed to hand over all government property and official responsibilities under his custody to the Permanent Secretary of the ministry pending further action.
