The National Headquarters of the National Union of Okitipupa Local Government Students (NUOLGS) has officially commenced the distribution of food palliatives to students across tertiary institutions, beginning with Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH), Okitipupa, Ondo State.
The landmark initiative, generously sponsored by Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, is aimed at supporting Okitipupa Local Government students with essential food items, particularly during the ongoing examination period when many students are faced with financial and feeding challenges.
The flag-off ceremony witnessed the presence of the National Leadership of NUOLGS, led by the National President, Prince Adeoye Omoleminu, alongside members of the National Executive Council and the leadership of the OAUSTECH Chapter. Hundreds of beneficiary students expressed immense joy and gratitude as they received the food palliatives, describing the intervention as timely, thoughtful, and impactful.
Speaking during the event, the NUOLGS OAUSTECH Chapter President, Comrade Adeleke Richmond, expressed profound appreciation to Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of students.
According to him: “This generous intervention will go a long way in easing the burden on many students, especially during this examination period. We are sincerely grateful to Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola for remembering the students of Okitipupa Local Government and for demonstrating genuine leadership through action.”
Also speaking, the Staff Adviser of the Union, Mr. Iwaeni Mandela, commended Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola for the laudable initiative, describing it as a remarkable act of compassion and service to humanity.
He further applauded the leadership of NUOLGS National Headquarters for choosing OAUSTECH as the first institution to benefit from the programme, noting that the initiative reflects the union’s unwavering dedication to the welfare and academic success of its members.
Many of the beneficiary students also conveyed heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola, describing the food support as a huge relief that will enable them to concentrate fully on their examinations without the burden of worrying about feeding. They equally commended the National Leadership of NUOLGS for successfully facilitating the programme.
The National Headquarters of NUOLGS also extends its profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for providing visionary leadership and for creating an enabling environment where compassionate and service-driven leaders like Hon. Rotimi Wemimo Akinsola continue to make meaningful contributions to the lives of students and communities across the state. NUOLGS appreciates His Excellency’s continued support for education and youth development and prays that God grants him greater wisdom and strength to continue delivering good governance to the people of Ondo State.
