Angry Youths Set Police Station Ablaze in Ekiti

The Isan-Ekiti police station in Ekiti State has been set ablaze by angry youths protesting the death of a community member allegedly killed by police officers.

The incident occurred on Friday night, hours before the state governorship election held on Saturday.

Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, but a viral video showed youths storming the police facility and setting it ablaze.

In one of the videos, the lifeless body of a young man could be seen lying in a pool of blood.

When contacted by Daily Post, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Command, SP Abutu Sunday, said he would revert.

Asked what triggered the violence captured in the viral video, the police spokesperson said, “You have to hold on, I will get back to you.”
