Veteran Fuji musician, Alhaji Abdul Azeez Oladeji, popularly known as Love Azeez, has died at the age of 81.
The death of the veteran singer was announced by Adekunle Abiodun, General Secretary of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), in a Facebook post.
According to Abiodun, the veteran singer died on Wednesday evening at his residence in Lagos State after a brief illness.
Abiodun described Love Azeez as the oldest Fuji musician and paid tribute to his life and contributions to the genre, while offering prayers for his family, friends, colleagues and fans.
He also disclosed in a follow-up post that the late singer was laid to rest on Thursday in accordance with Islamic rites.
Love Azeez was widely known within Fuji music circles and remained a respected figure in the industry throughout his career.
