The delisting of the All Democratic Congress (ADC) Chairman, Sen. David Mark, has been described as a “profound surprise and disappointment,” raising concerns about the suppression of a major opposition force ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 elections.

Speaking on the matter, Hon. Roland Ebipade Clark, aspirant for the House of Representatives under the ADC for Burutu Federal Constituency, urged his constituents to remain calm, steadfast, and peaceful. He stressed that Nigeria’s democracy has progressed too far to risk being reduced to a one-party system, which could project a political system dominated by a single authority.

Clark reiterated the commitment of political leaders—including Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi, and Rauf Aregbesola—during the world press conference on April 2, 2026, to proceed with ADC party registration and convention. He expressed confidence that their combined experience would help reposition Nigeria amid challenges that have left many citizens poorer and frustrated.

Hon. Clark also reflected on the legacy of his late father, Pa E.K. Clark, a firm advocate of democracy, stating that this legacy will continue to guide their resolve in preserving democratic values.

“As we approach 2027, meaningful change is not only necessary but inevitable. Nigerians deserve better representation, and by God’s grace, it shall be achieved,” he said.
