All Progressives Congress (APC) governors met in Lagos yesterday to discuss the zoning of party offices ahead of the national convention scheduled for the weekend in Abuja.
The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of Progressive Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, was attended by the National Chairman, Prof. Netanwe Yilwatda, National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru and Presidential Political Adviser Ibrahim Masari.
At the meeting held at the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, were Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos State), Mai Mala Buni (Yobe), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Lucky Aiyedatiwa (Ondo), Agbo Kefas (Taraba), Umo Eno (Awka Ibom), AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq (Kwara), Ahmadu Sule (Nasarawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers).
Also, there were Usman Ododo (Kwara), Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Abba Yusuf (Kano), Umaru Bago (Niger), Peter Mbah (Enugu), Monday Okpebholo (Edo), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), Dikko Raddah (Katsina), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Fr. Hychint Alia (Benue).
Sources said the governors met to finalise the zoning of the party offices in preparation for the convention.
The source said: “There are issues they are trying to iron out. They want to keep the house as one. After agreeing on zoning, there will be micro-zoning. But others are also proposing the option of sustaining the status quo beyond 2027.”
