The South-East chapter of the All Progressives Congress has declared its readiness to mobilise support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the next presidential poll.
The position was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the APC South-East Zonal Expanded Executive Meeting and made available to journalists in Abuja on Sunday.
The meeting was presided over by the APC National Vice Chairman (South-East), Ijeomah Arodiogbu, and attended by newly elected party chairmen from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states, alongside other members of the zonal executive committee.
Arodiogbu explained that the meeting focused on issues affecting the unity, growth and electoral prospects of the party in the South-East geopolitical zone, particularly as political actors begin early alignments ahead of future elections.
He said, “The South East Zonal Executive Committee reaffirms its total and unwavering support for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the forthcoming presidential election,”
The committee also expressed support for APC governors in the region and other elected officials of the party across various levels of government.
“The Committee equally reiterates its full and unalloyed support for all APC Governors in the South East zone, as well as all elected representatives and officials of the party at federal, state, and local levels,” the communique read.
As part of its resolutions, the zonal leadership urged members across the five South-East states to work together to strengthen the party’s chances in future elections.
It further stressed the need to deepen internal cohesion within the party to expand its membership base and improve its electoral performance in the region.
“The meeting resolved that party members and leaders across the South East zone shall work in unity and with a shared commitment to deliver comprehensive electoral victories for the APC in the presidential, National Assembly, governorship, and State House of Assembly elections throughout the zone,” Arodiogbu stated.
The APC chieftain called on party faithful to sustain their backing for the Renewed Hope Agenda of Tinubu while working towards achieving the party’s broader political objectives.
